Just four-and-a-half years after it was founded, Boars Martial Arts (Clare) held its first black belt grading in Clare on December 6.
Two junior and three senior students successfully achieved their shodan ho (black belt - stage one).
“This is a significant achievement for this small club,” Boars founder Hanshi Darren said.
“This grading is the most physical of all the gradings that these students will complete.
“In an hour, the senior students completed 600 push-ups and sit-ups, 300 squats and showcased everything that they had learnt whilst achieving their four previous belts.”
