This year’s Bank SA North Eastern inter-association carnival gets underway this Sunday.

The Stanley Cricket Association will play Mount Maurice at Clare while Belalie-Mokota hosts Rocky River at Jamestown’s Victoria Park in the First XI fixtures.

The Second XI game will see Rocky River at home to the newly formed Mount Maurice/Belalie-Mokota combination at Laura.

Local cricket will take a break on Saturday, February 6, to allow the carnival to continue when Rocky River takes on Mount Maurice at Crystal Brook and in the second division, Stanley and Mount Maurice/Belalie-Mokota will meet at Bundaleer Oval.

Sunday’s games will see Rocky River at home to Stanley at Laura and Mount Maurice will square off against Belalie-Mokota at Gladstone High School while the second division match is at Wirrabara between Stanley and Rocky River.

At stumps on Sunday the players will assemble at Laura for a social event and trophy presentations.

Rocky River teams: Michael Gaunt will captain the First XI side which also contains Brett Murdock, Ian Harslett (wicket keeper), Greg Baynes, Steve Merkel, Matt Woolford, Scott Brand, Simon Hayes, Brett Ballantyne, Cameron Edson and Ryan Foulis. The Second XI team is captained by Ricky Willis with Andrew Milne, Craig Woolford, Matt Hayes, Sam Weckert, Jayden Burgess, Sam Zanker, Koby Millington (wicket keeper), Shaun Noonan, Tai Martin-Page and Michael Reichstein. Daryl Boylan and Dylan Hansen are named as 12th man.
