The BBH Rams have booked a berth in the 2009 Grand-Final after smashing the Min/Man Eagles by 81 points in the 2nd semi-final at Burra on Saturday.

The Rams made three changes to their team from round 17, Jason Schuppan, Nick Schumann and Geoff Thompson came in, Justin Webster, Tim Crick and Daniel Booth went out.

The Eagles had two changes to their line-up with Shane Ross and Daniel Fogden replacing Steve Baraglia and Brad Bryksy.

BBH won the toss and elected to kick to the southern end in the first term with the aid of a 2-goal breeze in sunny conditions in front of a capacity crowd with the oval and surrounds looking a picture.

Min/Man won the centre clearance from the opening bounce but only to the outer wing where James Reilly gathered the footy and drove it forward to Nick Stacey who marked, played on and sailed home the opening goal of the game for the Rams from 60 metres out with 50 seconds on the clock.

The locals were back in attack a couple of minutes later with Stephen Tohl being rewarded for a good tackle with a free kick in the pine-tree pocket but he missed the target from 40 metres out.

FINAL SCORE BBH 23.9 (147) d MIN/MAN 10.6 (66)

BBH coach Peter Whittlesea said his plans payed off and he had twenty-one contributors.

“The twenty-one of them played very well, they did exactly what we planned to do today, not every game goes that way but certainly today all the things we talked about during the week and trained for on Thursday night all were implemented and happened. It was a very pleasing result but it’s only half of the way there, I think that we have got a few sore bodies and I think they sort of knew that but at the same token we’ve got that fortnight now to really freshen up and be toned and ready for the grand final, it was good,” Whittlesea said.

Min/Man coach David Wood admitted the Rams were all over his team from the start and they never got back into the game.

“They were all over us right from the start and we never really got into the game. They were fantastic, they were hard at it and we were left in their wake unfortunately. We had a bit of gastro go through the club during the week so I hope those guys will be available and right to go next week,” said Wood.
