Pub club backs Supa Bowl

03 Mar, 2010 10:17 AM
The Middle Pub Social Club has donated $1000 to assist in the building of the SupaBowl at the Clare Skate Park.

Jan Slann, from the social club, presented Councillor Sue Wurst with the cheque that will be used as support for the $80,000 project along with $47,000 in grants.

Cr Wurst said the construction of the Supa Bowl would begin in March and would be an asset to the community, drawing skaters from throughout the region to use it and allowing others to perfect their moves.

“We have received at least $20,000 from the community for the Supa Bowl, the community has been absolutely generous,” she said.

Mrs Slann said the Middle Pub Social Club was committed to supporting the local community and assisting with projects involving youth.

“It’s lovely to see the final product,” she said.

The social club had handed out $13,000 by Christmas last year and will continue to give money throughout the year.
