Gulnare farmer honoured at Northern Argus breakfast

01 Feb, 2012 10:26 AM
The community of Gulnare came out in full force on the morning of Australia Day to celebrate as local community-minded local farmer Ian Burgess was presented with the 2012 Northern Areas Council Citizen of the Year Award.

More than 200 people from throughout the Northern Areas Council district attended the Australia Day breakfast and award ceremony.

Laura was also well represented, with strong support for the town’s two 2012 award winners, Michael Lynch (Young Citizen of the Year) and the Laura Country Music Festival (Community Event of the Year).
